9 Days Southern Conquest by road

Day 1: Dar es Salaam - Selous
Depart by 4WD vehicle from Dar es Salaam to Selous Game Reserve. Arrive late afternoon at Rufiji River Camp which is located on the river bunk just inside the reserve on the Eastern approach... The Tented Camp is situated in North Eastern part of the Selous Game Reserve on a high bunk over-looking the Mighty Rufiji River and plain beyond. Picnic

lunch on the way. Afternoon boat safari, along the mighty Rufiji River. those who experience this safari can verify the fact that this mighty river boasts of Africa's highest concentration of Hippopotamus. Dinner and overnight at Rufiji River Camp.

Day 2: Selous Full Day

Breakfast at Rufiji River Camp. Full day game drive in Selous Game Reserve. Selous, Africa’.s largest wildlife sanctuary with an area of 54,600 sq km is bigger than Denmark and 4 times the size of Serengeti. It has the World’.s largest number of big game - Elephant, Buffalo, Rhino. Sable Antelope , Wildebeest, Eland, Giraffe, Waterbuck, Zebra, Impala, Hippo, Leopard and Lion. There are about 350 species of birdlife. Picnic lunch on the way. Dinner and overnight at Rufiji River Camp.

Day 3: Selous Full Day

After breakfast, boat safari along the Mighty Rufiji River. Bird-life can be seen along the banks of the river. Lunch at the Camp. Walking safari - This safari allows an intimate impression of the African bush and wildlife, which is unforgettable and brings you closest to pristine Nature. Return to Rufiji River Camp for Dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Selous Full Day

After breakfast game drive. Lunch at the camp. Another boat safari. Dinner and overnight at the camp.

Day 5: Selous - Mikumi

After breakfast, drive to Mikumi (Picnic lunch on the way). Dinner and overnight at Vuma Hill Tented Lodge.

Day 6: Mikumi Full Day

After breakfast, have a full day in Mikumi in search of the abundant wildlife which includes the groups of Buffalos, Elephants, pride of Lions, Legion of Wild Beast, School of Giraffe and Families of Impalas and Hippos. Picnic lunch, dinner and overnight at Vuma Hill Tented lodge.

Day 7: Mikumi -  Ruaha

After, breakfast at Vuma Hill, depart to Ruaha. Stop in Iringa for lunch. Short game drive at Ruaha National Park. Dinner and overnight at Ruaha River Lodge. The Lodge is constructed on and around a Rocky Kopje overlooking the Great Ruaha River. The Camp provides comfortable accommodation and good food while blending into its surroundings to enable visitors to feel themselves a part of the wild. Both the dining &quot.Banda&quot. and the bar, in elevated position above the river combine comfort and coolness together with the most spectacular views.

Day 8: Ruaha Full day.

Breakfast at the Lodge. Full day game drive in Ruaha National Park. Ruaha, with an area of 12,950sq.km. Is the second largest park, and second largest Elephant Sanctuary in Tanzania. The Great Ruaha River which flows along its entire Eastern border, creating spectacular Gorges and Scenery, features a large number of Hippos and Crocodiles. The wide variety of animals include Greater and Lesser Kudu, Roan and Sable Antelope. Birdlife is rich, with over 370 species recorded - picnic lunch on the way. Ruaha is the park where game drive starts as the plane touches down. A pair of Giraffe parading across the runway, where Elephant mothers guard their young under the shades of baobab trees. Dinner and overnight at Ruaha River Lodge.

Day 9: Ruaha - Dar es Salaam

Breakfast at Ruaha River Lodge, depart to Dar es Salaam, enroute game drive, lunch at Iringa. Arriving in Dar es Salaam in the evening.
